Hey guys. I’m Dr. Carpenter
with Lexington Spinal Care. Just like to talk to you a little bit about what we look for when you come into our office, when we do an exam with you. Our primary focus with you is that you actually have a healthy spine, not just saying My back doesn’t hurt. So our evaluation is really a top to bottom evaluation.
We look at literally how the skull. Sits on the very first bone to how your pelvis sits on your hips. And of course, we’re gonna check everything in between. So much like going to a dental office where they check each tooth, we’re gonna check each vertebra to see one, which ones are actually the ones that could be causing you a problem.
In the spine, we can have various misalignments to the spine. Those misalignments we call a subluxation. There’s actually five components to a subluxation. I’ll go over those more in the in, in a additional videos. But primarily a subluxation is when a bone shifts out of its normal alignment.
Not only does it affect the mobility and the function of the joint, but it certainly can put pressure on the joints and the disc and the nerves. So we can have misalignments that misalign sideways. We can have bends in the spine. We can have rotations in the spine. We can have shifts in the spine, and sometimes we have a combination of all of them.
Of all of those actually our exam, our examination is to find which areas of the spine is out of alignment that are causing the problems so that we can start to address those and get you back to a good, healthy state. If you’re interested in getting your spine check, please click on our special.
It’s a great way to get introduced to us and get a very thorough evaluation. Have a great day.
