Dr. Carpenter graduated cum laude from Life University in 1999. Prior to obtaining his doctorate degree from chiropractic school, he attended Francis Marion College in Florence, South Carolina. Dr. Carpenter has been practicing in Lexington for almost 25 years and has been practicing for over 25 years! Since he began practicing chiropractic, Dr. Carpenter has continuously progressed his education, taking many educational technique and treatment courses, ensuring that his patients receive the most comprehensive and advanced chiropractic care available. He recently received a designation as one of 2023’s Best Neuropathy and Non-surgical Spinal Decompression physicians.
Dr. Carpenter resides in Gilbert with his wife, Julie, and their three dogs. Their two grown children occasionally make the trek home, especially if they hear their dad is in charge of cooking dinner. An avid craftsman and outdoorsman, Dr. Carpenter enjoys fishing and boating, and has built a flat-bottomed Carolina Dory in his garage. He has taken his handmade boat to the Keys for fishing and is currently learning about navigating the Great Loop as his next planned adventure.
Julie Carpenter, CA
Julie, co-owner and office manager for Lexington Spinal Care, is a certified Lifestyle Coach, and heads our ChiroThin and Contour Light weight loss and nutrition programs.
She loves and lives the chiropractic philosophy, and happily shares her knowledge and support with patients. If you asked Julie what her favorite part of her job is, she would tell you that it is educating the patient and helping them become accountable for their own healthy decisions.
When she is not working in the office, Julie is an avid reader, and enjoys crafting, fishing and boating on Lake Murray. She lives in Gilbert with her husband and three dogs.
Stephanie Martin RT (R), CA
Stephanie is our x-ray technician, patient services manager, and chaos coordinator. A graduate of Greenville Technical College, Stephanie moved from the upstate in 2005. She currently lives in Irmo with her husband and they have two grown children. Stephanie is am avid Gamecock fan and in her free time she enjoys working out, trying new recipes, gardening and spending time with family and her dog, Ella.
Katy and Trevor Black, CA's
Trevor can sometimes be found in our office as a part-time Technical C.A. while working toward his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Sherman Chiropractic College in Spartanburg.
Originally from Barnwell, he and his wife Katy divide their time between Lexington (Gilbert) and the upstate, and enjoy hunting, fishing, and boating on the Beaufort, SC coast. Katy is also our scheduling CA, helping new patients find an appointment time that is quick and convenient.
Annie H, CA
Annie is a Chiropractic Assistant for Lexington Spinal Care specializing in patient-centered care in the exercise therapy room. Annie has a strong background in the health, fitness, and wellness industry with many years as an athletic coach and over 15 years’ experience as a Certified Personal Trainer and business owner.
Also trained in Therapeutic Stretch, she understands the role of the muscular system and how it supports spinal health and mobility to improve quality of life and overall longevity and enjoys educating patients with her new Spinal Hygiene Stretch program offered here on Tuesdays.
When Annie is not helping others, she stays active herself paddleboarding, jet skiing, hiking, golfing, playing tennis and pickleball and competes on the professional level in the sport of bodybuilding.

Dr. Carpenter and his staff are very nice and welcoming! Every time i go in for treatment , i come out feeling much better! My back had been giving me a fit for months and i was taking ibuprofen for temporary relief. I'm impressed that Dr. Carpenter has never told me to take any pain medicine. Noooow after 4 treatments, i'm getting out of bed instead of rolling out of bed! I will continue to go to Lexington Spinal Care and would recommend them to evetyone who is having spinal issues.

I have been a patient of Lexington Spinal Care for the last 12 years. I love Dr. Carpenter and all the staff! Everyone is so caring and friendly- they make you feel like family! From Lauren and Stephanie welcoming you at the front desk; to Annie and Julie who do different therapies; and Angie and Trevor performing various treatments and therapies. You never feel like a number and they greet you by name. They offer many different types of treatments and consistently upgrade their equipment. Over the years, I have received adjustments, pettibon therapy, spinal decompression, rolling table, TENS, and ultrasound therapies. However, other therapies are offered in the office if you need. Dr. Carpenter is always open to trying different therapies, if other things have not worked. He is willing to work with you to help you feel your best!!!

I’ve been under Dr. Carpenter’s care for the past seven years. From the first office visit, he and the knowledgeable staff have been welcoming and shown a true concern for my overall wellbeing. I am a weekly visitor getting “maintenance” adjustments and E-Stim therapy which help to relieve the aches and pains from everyday life.
