here with Lexington Spinal Care. Thanks for joining me today. Just a couple of things I want to talk about that we’ve seen a lot lately are just headaches. There’s three really main causes that we see with the headaches coming in. The first cause that we see is that We see a lot of headaches due to really just dehydration.
And a lot of us are just walking around and dehydrated, not really even know we’re dehydrated. In fact, it’s one of the number one reasons why people actually go to the emergency room is dehydration. That’s why they always give you an IV and saline because they want to make sure that stuff’s taken care of, but a very quick way that you can offset that.
On your own from a dehydration from dehydration is to just take some sea salt. You can get sea salt at any grocery store anywhere now, just get you some sea salt, take a pinch of that sea salt, put it in your bottled water in the morning. Just make that one of the first drinks of the day.
And that’s going to give you sodium and that sodium allows us to retain water, not a retention of like body water, more of a cellular water that helps keep us whole, the water that we do drink. So that you stay well hydrated. So something really important. We’ve seen people just have reduction in their headaches.
Just being hydrated. So if you’re having some headaches, you may want to try just a little bit of salt and water in the mornings that can make such a big impact just in your overall health and well being. Number two reason why we see headaches is that. Today we’re in a tech savvy world.
It’s, all about computers and our phones and tablets. And there’s a blue filter that kind of comes off that. If we spend too much time on that’s some certainly we can get headaches. They make special glasses that you can purchase that will filter the blue light. Some of the iPhones you can you can set to where it helps set or reduce some of the blue light as well.
But again, we do see that quite often in terms of that. One of the reasons that we also see headaches, everything from tension headaches, those tension headaches are, Really what starts at the base of the neck works up around the base of the skull. We see that very commonly.
And they’re very uncomfortable, very painful, very very much a nuisance to deal with. The other would be obviously migraines. And there are people who have migraines where they get auras and visual disturbances. A lot of these headaches, both migraines and tension headaches, can come from nerve interference and that nerve interference can happen.
We see it a lot really at the base of the skull and into the what’s called the first bone. Suboccipital muscles get interfered with when we get nerve interference. And that can certainly trigger the headaches. Here at Lexington Spinal Care, we do a very thorough evaluation.
