A Look Back at 25 Years

 1999, i graduated chiropractic school actually graduated June 14th and we had already had a building leased in Lexington kind of towards the Barnyard flea markets and we were starting to practice and the practice name was O’Grove Family Chiropractic and We had sold our place that we were living in Atlanta probably a couple months prior to me graduating, so my wife and my kids had moved back here.

And I was having to finish up school, and June 14th, graduated, moved here. We immediately started doing our build out in our office, and we did that ourselves. It was myself and Julie and her dad, primarily. And we spent a month getting the practice ready and getting it all together so we could start a practice.

And we decided we were going to open July 19th. That was a Monday. We realized on that Friday, we did not have the first patient. We hadn’t thought anything about patients, getting patients, how you get patients. We were just so consumed and just opening the practice that we we neglected that part of it.

Last minute effort, we decided to do a spinal screening at the Barnyard Flea Market. We got a table and we did a screening and we didn’t really know much of what we were doing. We were obviously fresh out of school and but we were able to get two new patients, a father and a daughter. His name was Trudell.

He’s since passed on. He was an older gentleman at the time, but he was a patient, both of them were patients for probably 15 years. It just was a great experience in opening up and getting started and And we moved in the building we’re at now. We outgrew that place and moved over here in 2003.

So we’ve actually been in the heart of Lexington since 2003, and now we have a patient base well over 10,000 people. So it’s grown over the 25 years. We are truly blessed. We love serving our community and we love helping the patients of Lexington and the surrounding areas and we hope to be here for another 25 more. So it’s been a great journey, but thanks.
